Calahonda Beach is a semi-urban beach in the far-western section of the town of Mijas. At 4,400 metres long and 20 metres wide, Calahonda boasts a high level of occupancy. It’s known for its golden sand, crystal clear waters and moderate swells. It also holds a Blue Flag, confirming its unrivalled quality.
While there’s no beachfront promenade, there are many other amenities that make it an ideal spot for a beach day with the family. Calahonda has different areas that range from the most-developed with nearby houses and businesses to more virgin beaches with abundant vegetation. It’s also an ideal location for scuba diving and fishing.
You can quickly get to the beach either on foot, by car or bus. You can also enjoy a free, secure parking service. More active visitors can enjoy the Puerto Deportivo de Calahonda Sports Centre that’s only a kilometre from the beach.
