At 400 metres long and an average width of 40 metres, El Cable beach is one of the favourite spots for Marbella’s locals. Its ample services and amenities, along with its famous beach bars, make it the town’s trendiest beach. This beach got its name from the cable that used to cross the city transporting minerals towards freighters. It’s one of the few memories that remain of Marbella’s mining and steel past. Furthermore, this beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
