Playa de El Chanquete - Provincia de Málaga y su Costa del Sol

El Chanquete Beach

Playa de El Chanquete Málaga, 29018, Málaga, 29018
Share

El Chanquete Beach, or El Dedo as some locals call it, is in the Málaga neighbourhood of El Palo and goes from El Palo Beach to the El Candado Marina.

This family-friendly beach is 550 metres long with an average width of 25 metres and has dark sand with moderate swells.

Since this is an urban beach, it usually has a high occupancy rate, especially during the high season. It’s easy to get there whether by foot or by car; there’s also a bus stop a few metres away.

There’s a spacious beachfront promenade full of beach bars where you can taste local pescaíto frito fried fish. One of the most popular places on the entire Costa del Sol, El Tintero, is here for its unique way of serving the fish. Furthermore, this beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
