Sitting on the foothills of Sierra Bermeja, between Jerez and Marbella, is San Roque Club, a renowned golf club across Europe that is home to not one but two 18-hole courses: the Old Course and the New Course.
As its name suggests, the Old Course is the most historic of the two. Built by Dave Thomas in 1990, the 6,494m course offers players wide fairways and bunkers redesigned by Severiano Ballesteros. Divided into two sections, the course firstly presents woodland terrain and then later a number of water obstacles. The course has a superb reputation and has hosted a number of international tournaments, such as the Open Español in 2005.
San Roque also offers the Jason Floyd Academy, a golf school that uses innovative teaching techniques that focus on the personal development of each student. Part-time, full-time and tournament preparation programmes are available.
