Travel around Málaga
Málaga province boasts an extensive and diverse transport network that provides services all along the Costa del Sol, making it easy to travel around.
From the Airport
It is very easy to travel to the centre of Málaga from the airport. Taxis, bus and commuter train services are readily available. The commuter train is one of the most recommended forms of transport, as it is only about a 10 minute journey from the airport to the centre of Málaga. It is also a similar journey time from the airport to Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola.
Bus, train and metro
Any of the towns in Málaga province can be reached by bus from the capital. Buses depart from Málaga Bus Station (next to the train station) and Muelle Heredia Bus Station.
Commuter trains are another fast and comfortable option for moving around the Costa del Sol. The Málaga-Fuengirola line connects these two cities, and also stops in Benalmádena and Torremolinos. In addition, there is the Málaga-Álora line, which connects the capital with the Guadalhorce Valley and stops in the towns of Cártama and Pizarra.
If you want to go that little bit further and visit other cities in Andalucía, the Costa del Sol has a strategic location. For example, in just one hour you can be in Granada, and in a little over two hours you can reach Seville or Cordoba.
Vehicle Rental
Renting a vehicle is another highly recommended option for travel around the Costa del Sol. Why? You have the huge advantage of flexibility and the freedom to move around at your own pace without having to worry about timetables.
There are numerous specialised vehicle rental companies offering different types of vehicles, categories and prices according to your personal preferences and requirements. The perfect option if you want to squeeze the most out of your experience in Málaga and the Costa del Sol.
Sustainable transport
The excellent climate of the Costa del Sol makes cycling around Málaga and any of the surrounding towns highly recommended. Easy to use and maintain, quick, healthy, no emissions, easy to 'park', cost etc. There are many advantages to using this mode of transport. Why don't you give it a try?
