Before we got to Cartajima, we made the most of the morning by going to Los Riscos, an impressive karst formation situated between Júzcar and Cartajima that is one of the most important karst landscapes in Málaga province after El Torcal de Antequera.

At midday, we reached the entrance to Cartajima, where we were able to enjoy magnificent views across the Genal Valley from a spot known as La Era. We then went down towards Calle Nueva and continued along Calle Ancha where we were struck in particular by the careful architecture and the façades of the various 18th century mansions.

When we finished, we went to see one of the most famous trees in the Serranía de Ronda: the Arenas Chestnut Tree. We went to take a look at this hundred-year-old tree, and then went for a stroll around this region that breathes tranquillity. Afterwards, we retraced our steps and went back up Calle Carril, next to which was one of the viewpoints that treated us to some stunning views of the village.

From here. and after we’d walked around a unique spot adorned with geraniums, we arrived at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, which was built in the 16th century. This is where our route came to an end.
