Jubrique, un alto en el Genal

Jubrique, a break in the Genal River

Share

Our route through Jubrique started at the road that connects this village to its neighbour, Algatocín. First of all, we stopped off to see the Genal River flow through this village, and left our car by the bridge to do so. We then followed some of the paths there are along the river, and were amazed by its crystal-clear waters and by the area's vegetation.

We then headed for a pretty little viewpoint from which we could get an overall view of the village. From there we carried on towards the Peñón Encantado viewpoint. Then, a little later, we visited Plaza de Andalucía, which is where the Church of San Francisco de Asís and the Village Hall are located. We then went in the direction of the upper end of Jubrique, taking winding streets until we reached La Era viewpoint.

Furthermore, the Great Path of the Ronda Mountain Range passes close to Jubrique, specifically stage 4 which links Benarrabá and Benalauría. Doing this route and making a stop-off in the town is another of the recommended alternatives for visiting it and pausing during your trip through the Genal Valley.
