- Sugar

Step by step
1. Put water in a pot to boil, and while you wait for it to get to the boiling point, cut the chestnuts by making a cross shape in each one. Then put them in the already boiling water for three minutes.2. Take the chestnuts out of the pot and put them in a bowl with water and ice to work with them without burning yourself, and then peel them.3. Once you peeled all the chestnuts, put them in a saucepan with water, three tablespoons of sugar, brandy (if you desire) and cinnamon and cook on low heat for 30 minutes until the nuts are soft. Make sure that the chestnuts do not break apart. 4. Let them cool and sweeten!
