Graces of Cartajima
Cartajima has a very special and curious Holy Week in which a tradition, which dates back several centuries and which is really moving, is kept alive on Easter Sunday. After the bells toll early in the morning, the Baby Jesus is taken out of the church in a procession, and the small figure is carried to a place known as el huerto.
At midday, the Virgen del Rosario leaves the church and is taken to the same huerto, where mother and son meet in a very emotional scene and take part in a little dance called "cortesías".
