Grape Harvesting Festival in Manilva
Manilva is located in the Western Costa del Sol region. This festival is held in the municipality of Manilva during the first weekend in September, coinciding with the end of the grape harvest. The Grape Harvest Festival stands out from the other summer festivals celebrated on the Costa del Sol because of its originality.
After mass and the procession with the Virgin in the early hours of the morning, the villagers gather on the street to witness the stomping of the grapes and sample the first wine of the season, offering a taste to visitors and friends. Rociero groups and verdiales bands play, and, when night falls, a huge open-air party in the town square make this festival complete.
